Bühler Group, a global leader in machinery manufacturing and one of the world’s largest engineering corporations, commissioned Qingdao DISA to design, install, and commission 1 shot blasting room and 2 painting booths for its two newly constructed grain machinery factories in Wuxi.
 
Core Design of the Shot Blasting Room
Dimensions: 12m (L) × 8m (W) × 6m (H) – optimized for grain machinery coating applications.
Key Requirements: Minimized maintenance time, extended operational lifespan, and reduced energy costs (Bühler’s priority criteria).
Anti-Corrosion Protection & Safety
Process Integration: Combines SA 3/SA 2.5-grade abrasive blasting with advanced coating techniques to meet stringent anti-corrosion standards for grain machinery.
Capacity: Supports up to 4 operators, including one on an automated work platform.
Automation: Features a liftable automated nozzle system mounted on a 3-axis platform for precision and efficiency.
Painting Booth Innovations
To address challenges in transporting large components, DISA’s design integrates dual painting booths for simultaneous spraying and drying within one workspace.
 
Circulating Air System: Facilitates both spraying and drying processes.
Modular Ceiling Design: A newly added upper ceiling section includes multiple insert panels (1×0.5m each). Each ceiling segment is a filter-equipped frame structure, enabling rapid replacement of individual filters.
Enhanced Filtration: A paper cartridge filter system installed along the first sidewall at the bottom delivers a 9-month service life, slashing maintenance costs and downtime.

High Load Capacity: Grating panels withstand 7.5-ton wheel loads.
Abrasive Recovery: Paired with a pneumatic cylinder-driven scraper conveyor at the base, enables 100% abrasive recovery from the floor.
Cost-Effective Flooring: Exceptionally flat floor construction reduces foundational costs, ideal for areas with high groundwater levels.
Reduced Civil Work: The painting booths’ specialized sidewall filtration systems minimize groundwork requirements.
